Mounting a small video cam under the bill of a cap is a GREAT idea, and the Rhino Lid Cam is a pretty good outgrowth of that idea. On the positive side, the camera is capable of recording good, sharp videos. It automatically adjusts for different or changing light levels, and it seems to focus well on objects near and far. Used with high-capacity memory chips installed, it can record as much video as I can imagine needing (though the battery will run down before such a limit is reached). On the negative side, it is supplied with minimal documentation that could be better written. The battery is not replaceable by the user--so once it has run down, you can't just slap in a newly-charged battery and go on using the camera. It is not waterproof. And in order to control all functions, there are just two control buttons--or three, if you include the reset function. The camera is also supplied with a pair of LED lights which can serve the function of using power that would be better reserved for the camera itself.
But even with the warts, I've used the Lid Cam to take some very good video clips--once I learned to avoid too many quick and jerky head movements.

Operation is very straight forward if you are the least bit "tech savvy". Learning where to point your hat and the position of the lens is trial and error, so practice first. Takes reasonable videos of your sporting events be they hunting, fishing, biking, hiking or whatever. Not waterproof so fishers beware. Also, I upgrade to a 16 GB chip so I can recharge and keep taking videos like on a longer trip and it comes with plug in, car and USB recharging and a cord to play through a TV. I would recommend this for those that want to share their fun with family and friends.

I have only used this camera on one field experience and it was just to test, but everything works just as advertised. The directions are inaccurate, so I had to kind of figure things out on my own. Once I did that, however, I really like this camera. It will be fun to use it hiking with my kids.
